The procedure is also conducted on behalf of the Research Centre for Women Foundation with Silicone Implants (SVS).
The two organizations are starting the procedure following a refusal by the Health Care Inspectorate (IGZ) take action against silicone implants. Measures The Inspectorate was asked last year "precautions" regarding these prostheses, with the ultimate possibility of a ban on the use indefinitely. They rejected that request. This decision making Clara Wichmann and SVS objection.
Silicone implants have been more controversial because many wearers report complaints. The implants can leak and they are associated with a variety of physical symptoms. SVS has more than 3,500 women received complaints about problems with breast implants.

- After having breast implant surgery, about 30% of women will require further surgery within 10 years of their initial operation.
- Additional surgery may be needed as a result of complications such as capsular contracture (hardening of the scar capsule around the implant, see below), age-related changes to the breast or the shell of the implant rupturing (splitting).
- All forms of surgery carry some degree of risk. Complications that can affect anyone who has surgery include: an adverse reaction to the anaesthetic excessive bleeding risk of infection developing blood clots (where the blood thickens to form solid lumps)
- There are also a number of complications that are specifically associated with breast implant surgery. Some of these are discussed below.

Mr xxxx has explained in his submissions that he used his credit card to pay for the supply of goods and services that is the provision of breast implants for his partner miss xxxx.mr xxx and miss xxx have confirmed the repayment of his credit card is being managed by third party and contribute to all purchases made equally therefore I am satisfied that mr xxx and miss xxx operate as a one sociology economic unit.
Further more whilst the documentation from the procedure is in miss xxx name given the circumstances all contracts and paperwork needed to be in miss xxx name,it was not Possible to have mr xxxx name on any of the paperwork or contract,therefore whilst I understand why hsbc feels there is no debtor-creditor-supplier chain,given the circumstances I am satisfied that this chain exists with this is mind I am of the opinion that mr xxx is able to bring a claim under section 75.
Section 75 entitles the consumer an equal right in certain circumstances to claim against the creditor if there is a misrepresentation or breech of contract by supplier under the relevant legislation goods need to be fit for purpose and defect free.it is widely know and publicised that the implants in question were not fit for purpose as they contained industrial silicone rather than medical grade silicone there is clear that there is a clear demonstration that there has been a breech of contract as a result..

Capsular contracture is the most feared complication for the woman who wants to increase their breast size. It consists endureciemiento the capsule or membrane forms around the breast implant.
The first thing you care for patients is to know that the process of capsule formation always occurs naturally.The body produces around implants, capsule or fibrous membrane. This capsule is like a "second skin" consists mainly of collagen fibers. It is the immune defense against a body to which the organism finds it strange and which can not be destroyed, and is thus isolating a membrane surrounding tissue. Normally this does not cause discomfort fibrous capsule, or alter the aesthetic result of the intervention breast augmentation.However, sometimes the capsule is set in excess putting strain on the surrounding tissues and hardening the breast, can be deformed by traction and tension produced. 1) According to the National Institute of Medicine, 25 to 40 percent of people who get breast implants end up needing another operation to correct something wrong with the first one. (The rate varied in particular studies, depending on things like how long women were monitored, the typical time being five years.)
2) A study by a maker of saline breast implants, Mentor, found that 27 percent of implants put into breast cancer patients had to be taken back out again within three years, due to side effects. Another 13 percent had to have lesser corrective surgeries. The competing manufacturer McGhan/Inamed/Allergan has similar numbers. Even for healthy patients, both were forced to admit that "most women experienced at least one complication over the three year period".
3) In general, breast cancer patients have complications with implants far more often than healthy people do. Many of the complications are about three times as likely for mastectomy reconstruction patients as for cosmetic augmentation patients. We regard this as socially the most acceptable and necessary time for implants to be used, but medically it is the most risky and unjustifiable time to use them. If you don't have a healthy body at the start when you're getting the implants, the odds of keeping healthy with them in place plummet.

EXCEPTIONAL Aesthetic REFERRALS
We have been making requests for help from clinics/plastic surgeons today especially for women with no breast tissue or asymmetry and who have no clinic to turn to for help and cannot face removal-only surgery.
We have been advised there are EXCEPTIONAL Aesthetic REFERRALS on the NHS for R&R which can be offered to private patients in these specific circumstances:
For women: • with a complete absence of breast tissue unilaterally or bilaterally;
OR • with of a significant degree of asymmetry of breast shape of two or more cup sizes
If either or both apply to you then;
1. Check with your local NHS trust ask for details of these referrals in your area.
2. Then arrange a choose & book specialist consultation.(Remember to do your homework on your choice of hospital and surgeon)
3. During the consultation ask for an EXCEPTIONAL AESTHETIC REFERRAL for R&R to your local NHS Trust giving one of the two reasons for it. (see above)

Ask them who offers this service in your area and then see your gp for a referral under the choose and book scheme ask for a Exceptional Aesthetic Referral to your NHS Trust.

Ask for a specialist consultation for PIP removal and discuss with your consultant. Doctors request this help on your behalf from the NHS Trust in your area
Yes any doctor can make an exceptional referral to the NHS TRust on your behalf - a breast consultant is usually your best bet - but a good GP or psychologist can do it..

Breast prosthesis removal or replacement
Background: breast prosthesis may have to be removed after some complications such as leakage of silicone gel or physical intolerance or social unacceptability by the individual. It may have to be replaced after the given age of the implant is over.
Policy: Breast prosthesis removal or replacement will only be funded in accordance with the criteria specified below.
• Revision surgery will only be considered if the NHS commissioned the original surgery. If revision surgery is being carried out for implant failure, the decision to replace the implant(s) rather than simply remove them should be based upon the clinical need for replacement and whether the patient meets the criteria for augmentation at the time of revision.
• For patients who had original surgery carried out privately, removal to make safe only will be provided. Further treatment will only be commissioned in light of appropriate evidence being provided to prove that the patient meets the criteria for breast augmentation at the time of application based on their original breast size before private implants were inserted.
Mastopexy
Background: breasts begin to sag and droop with age as a natural process. Pregnancy, lactation and substantial weight loss may escalate this process. This is sometimes complicated by the presence of a prosthesis which becomes separated from the main breast tissue leading to “double bubble” appearance.
Policy: Mastopexy will only be funded in accordance with the criteria specified below.
• Whilst this is routinely part of treating breast asymmetry and reduction it is not available for purely cosmetic/aesthetic purposes, such as post-lactational ptosis (sagging breasts).
The presence of an implant does not change eligibility for mastopexy.
Revision mammoplasty
Background: the term mammoplasty refers to breast reduction or augmentation procedures. Revision mammoplasty may be indicated if desired results are not achieved or as a result of problem with implants. Policy: Revision mammoplasty will only be funded in accordance with the criteria specified below.
• Revisional surgery will only be considered if the NHS commissioned the original
surgery. If revisional surgery is being carried out for implant failure, the decision to replace the implant(s) rather than simply remove them should be based upon the clinical need for replacement and whether the patient meets the policy for augmentation at the time of revision.

Experts writing in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine disagree with the conclusion that PIP breast implants do not show any evidence of significant risk to human health. This was the decision reported in June 2012 by the panel appointed to investigate the PIP breast implant scandal chaired by NHS medical director Sir Bruce Keogh. Disputing this the authors point to evidence showing that the PIP implants were found to contain a higher proportion of a group of small-sized molecules than the norm, including one referred to as D4 which has been identified as an endocrine disrupting chemical(EDC). In low doses, EDCs are known to cause damage to a developing foetus.
Co-author Andre Menache, director of consumer protection organisation Antidote Europe, says: “Considering these known risks and the fact that most women receiving breast implants were of reproductive age, we would expect the MHRA and the Department of Health to fulfil its duty of care and thoroughly investigate these risks as well as provide full information to patients.” more info;
